It’s a time of the year we generally do not experience flooding but the rain we’ve received this week is having an affect here in the Lake Area prompting local law enforcement to put out a warning, again, to motorists. The Camden County Sheriff’s Department is reporting that several low-water crossings are covered and, should you come across one, it’s best to turn around and find an alternate route. More than half of all flood-related drowning happen when a vehicle is driven into flood waters and it takes just a couple inches of rushing water to sweep a small car downstream. You are also being advised against walking into any flood waters. The flood warning for Camden County ends at 4pm today while the flood watch for the entire Lake Area ends at midnight tonight.
