There is a flood warning in effect for Benton and Morgan counties from now until 3pm this afternoon. According to the national weather service office in Springfield, persistent rainfall expanding from southeast Kansas into west central and central Missouri has trained rain over the same area multiple times causing rainfall totals of upwards of two to three inches in the warned area. The runoff from the rain is causing creeks and low water crossings to flood. Residents should head warnings and take the necessary precautions to protect life and property. If you see water over the road turn around and find another route to your destination.
