Another week another five-thousand confirmed cases of influenza in Missouri. That’s according to online figures reported by the state department of health. For the week ending on the 4th, there had been 20,400 confirmed cases compared to only 1,685 just a year ago. Camden County Health Department Administrator Bee Dampier says, the big jump in confirmed cases is likely the result of a better reporting system.
More access to medical care and people actually going to their doctors are possible other reasons for the higher numbers.
