A recent food drive generated thousands of pounds of food for area food banks. The National Letter Carriers’ “Stamp Out Hunger” drive was held on May 12th. The Food Bank for Central and Northeast Missouri says residents in the Lake of the Ozarks region donated over 4,000 pounds of food that was distributed to Share the Harvest Food Pantry, Hope House, and the Osage Beach Senior Center. In addition, over $2300 in monetary donations was received. That money will help The Food Bank purchase nearly $50,000 worth of groceries for residents in need.
