A former employee with the Camdenton school district has now been charged with a felony following an investigation by police showed that she stole around $127,000 of student’s lunch money. Food service worker, 38 year old Cassandra Franklin of Macks Creek has been charged with a class “B” felony for allegedly stealing between 50 and 700 dollars a day over a period of six years. If convicted, she faces 5 to 15 years in prison. A number of schools allow parents to pre-pay for their kid’s lunches by depositing money into an account. Students can then swipe a card at lunch to buy their meal. According to authorities, Franklin allegedly manipulated some of those accounts and pocketed the money.
