A trial for a former lake area doctor is delayed again after a special prosecutor is appointed to handle the case. Camden County Prosecuting Attorney Heather Miller filed a motion seeking to remove her office from the proceedings for George Koch, who’s accused of sex crimes against a young family member. Miller County Prosecutor Ben Winfrey has been appointed to handle the trial, which had been scheduled to begin in February. A pre-trial conference is now scheduled for March 6th. The new trial date has not been announced as of press time. Koch is charged with five counts, including incest, first-degree rape or attempted rape, first-degree sodomy or attempted sodomy, second-degree staturoy rape, and second-degree statutory sodomy.
