A former church youth leader in Iberia will spend, at least, ten years in a federal prison without parole after entering a guilty plea on Wednesday to attempting to entice a minor for illicit sex. 45-year-old Jamey Lee Becker entered the plea before U.S. Magistrate Judge Matt J. Whitworth…the charge was contained in an August 24th, 2016, federal indictment. By entering the plea, Becker admitted using the internet and a cell phone in his attempt to entice the minor to engage in illegal sexual activity over a four-and-a-half month time period. The maximum sentence Becker faces would be life in federal prison without parole. A pre-sentence investigation is to be conducted by the U.S. Probation Office. The case was investigated jointly by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Miller County Sheriff’s Department.
