Congratulations go out to a number of local students who are being recognized statewide. Four students in the Camdenton R-III district are among nine winning essay writers in the 27th annual Law Day Essay Contest. This year’s competition drew more than 300 entries. The topics this year focused on freedom of speech and freedom of the press. Hannah Rogers took third place for grades 9-12; Alexis Stroup won the competition for grades 6-8, while Cooper Rhodenizer and Bear Shore finished in second and third, respectively. Winners received a $300 prize, while second and third places win $200 and $150. The competition is sponsored by the Missouri Bar Young Lawyers’ Section and the Missouri Education Association.
