An outing on the water, near the 26 mile marker of the main channel in Camden County, comes to an end with four people hurt and the operator of the boat being charged with BWI. The Water Patrol division of the Highway Patrol says it happened late Monday night when the boat operated by 20-year-old Jacob Ransom…of Ballwin…was travelling upstream and hit the shoreline. The boat began to take on water and overturned. Ransom, and three passengers, were not wearing any safety devices and refused treatment at the scene for minor injuries. Ransom was also charged, according to the highway patrol, with boating while intoxicated, possession of marijuana, failure to exercise the highest degree of care while operating a motor boat and for being a minor who was visibly intoxicated.
