A Fourth person has died in the tragic Amtrak crash in Northern Missouri.
Officials say safety concerns had been raised about the railroad crossing prior to the crash.
It was an accident waiting to happen.
That’s what farmer Mike Spencer warned in a Facebook video just a couple of weeks ago about the rural MO train crossing where an Amtrak train slammed into a dump truck and then derailed. “It was just a matter of time and we told the railroad about that we’ve been working with the railroad and thought here a year and a half ago that we had the green light to get this thing fixed, Nothing got done on it.”
The truck driver and two train passengers also died in the accident that happened near Mendon MO, some 85-miles northeast of Kansas City.
NTSB and state officials are investigating.
