A former food service employee for the Camdenton school district accused of stealing around $127,000 in student’s lunch money over a six year period is being arraigned today (Thursday) at the Camden County Courthouse. 38 year old Cassandra Franklin of Macks Creek is facing charges of felony stealing and if convicted faces 5 to 15 years in prison. However, according to reports, newly elected prosecutor Michael Gilley will not prosecute the case. Apparently Franklin is the ex-wife of Gilley’s first cousin so a special prosecutor is expected to be appointed.
