Friday Is Wear Your Life-jacket To Work Day

Friday is ‘Wear Your Life Jacket to Work’ day in the Lake Area.

It’s an effort to raise awareness of the importance of life jackets, but it’s also a chance to show off the versatility and different styles available.

The National Safe Boating Council is asking you to send a pic of yourself with your life jacket on at work, and then send it to lotocaptain@gmail.com or post it to social media with hashtag #lifejackettowork.

The U-S Coast Guard says drowning was the cause of death in four out of five fatal boating accidents in 2018, 84% of those who died were not wearing a life jacket.

Lake of the Ozarks Water Safety Council is supporting the effort to raise awareness of different life jacket styles available, and to demonstrate how comfortable and versatile they can be.

The Lake of the Ozarks Captains Association is reminding you to make sure you and your friends are always wearing life jackets while out on the water.
