Missouri is moving closer to replacing a new mental health facility at the Fulton state hospital. The office of administration announced this week that $92 million dollars in bonds have been issued for the project. The bonding is a result of a measure passed this year by the legislature and signed by Governor Nixon. The plan is to demolish old buildings and replace them with over 400 thousand square feet of new facilities. Fulton state hospital is Missouri’s only maximum security psychiatric facility.
