Plans for a major development in Camden County come to an apparent screeching halt with foreclosure by the bank financing the project now being reported. Ballparks of the Ozarks, covering almost 240 acres in the Macks Creek area, had originally been expected to include several fields and be open for action this past summer. However, according to Presiding Commissioner Greg Hasty, funding for the grandiose project has apparently dried up effectively killing it and taking with it an expected 100 jobs that were to be created to operate the complex. Camden County had approved community improvement district and transportation development district designations as financing mechanisms with no county money to be used for developing the project. KRMS News has sent Ballparks of the Ozarks CEO Jeff Vernetti an email request for comment.
