The worst may soon be behind us in terms of the prices we pay at the pump this summer. According to the latest report from the U.S. Energy Information Administration, gas prices are expected to peak this month at around $2.92 a gallon before declining to $2.84 in September. Overall, the EIA says the summer averages should hang around $2.87, up 46-cents from last year. The current national average according to AAA is $2.90 a gallon, with prices in Missouri averaging $2.65. Camden County is averaging $2.62, Morgan is at $2.66, and Miller County is averaging $2.69 a gallon.
