Nine non-violent offenders receive pardons by Gov. Jay Nixon this weekend. KRMS news has learned that Gov. Nixon granted pardons to seven men and two women convicted of non-violent offences. Each of the individuals has completed his or her sentence and has become a law-abiding citizen. Gov. Nixon said the granting of pardons is not a matter taken lightly, and the cases that come before my office are given careful review. He continued by saying that each of these individuals has turned his or her life around and has become a contributing member of society.
