More help is on the way for Missouri’s drought-stricken farmers. Governor Mike Parson has announced plans allowing for access to more water and hay. Up to 5,000 gallons of water per family farm can be pumped daily from 28 Department of Conservation areas and five Department of Natural Resources state parks. A lottery has been created for farmers interested in haying on 900 acres of State Park land. That will run the rest of this week, through Saturday, with the results to be announced Monday. For arrangements to access water, call 573-751-4115, ext. 3209. For the hay lottery visit mostateparks.com.
