St. Louis and Kansas City are among several cities across the country vying for Amazon’s second corporate headquarters. The state is hoping that by combining two sought-after projects, they’ll be able to land contracts for long-term job growth. Governor Eric Greitens has outlined the state’s proposal, which includes a role for the International Hyperloop high-speed rail system. Missouri is already a finalist in the rail competition. The Governor says if Amazon selects either Kansas City or St. Louis, the two projects could be combined, creating a high-speed innovation corridor. The Hyperloop would connect St. Louis, Columbia, and Kansas City, establishing opportunity for further future expansion and jobs from Amazon.
