The Joplin tornado has been rated an EF-5 by the National Weather Service. It was a rate multivortex tornado with winds greater than 200 miles per hour. The official death toll topped 120, yesterday. The deadliest single twister in the United States since the 1950s also damaged eight thousand structures.
Sunday, Governor Jay Nixon says he’ll meet privately with Joplin area faith leaders to discuss community needs and concerns.
Yesterday, he signed an executive order that will help ensure the continuity of medical care for Missouri residents who lost their records or prescriptions in Sunday’s tornado.
