Governor Jay Nixon has released $43 million dollars in funding for state building repairs, local libraries and other programs due to higher than expected general revenues. Around $7 million will be used for technology start ups and about $5.8 million for public libraries. It was also announced the Missouri Department of Economic Development is making $3.5 million dollars available in low interest loans to public schools and colleges as well as local governments, hospitals and public water and wastewater treatment facilities. The loans are for energy efficiency and renewable energy projects.
