Governor Eric Greitens wants to use federal money to help students get job training. The Governor has announced plans to spend $3.6 million in discretionary funding to develop new Registered Apprenticeship programs. Those programs allow students to start working on day one, combining structured learning with on-the-job training. When they complete the programs, students receive a nationally-recognized credential verifying their job training. The Governor’s plan more than doubles the current funding available for registered apprenticeships.
