Governor Eric Greitens is calling for the state to make a large investment to improve high speed internet access. In a proposal he outlined Thursday, the Governor is asking for a $45 million outlay over two years. His plan would create a rural broadband matching fund, providing grants to match private investments in broadband infrastructure. The proposal also includes clauses by which the state would be refunded any grants they award if the companies fail to deliver on promised infrastructure, speeds, or the number of customers served.
