The Department of Revenue will no longer scan or keep conceal carry weapons certificates. The announcement was made on Tuesday by Governor Jay Nixon, a day after Brian Long resigned as head of the revenue department. The Governor says the scanning and retention of concealed carry certificates is not essential in the process of issuing a driver’s license. Nixon says he will continue working with policymakers to ensure the security and privacy of the license process. Lawmakers in Jefferson City and Washington D.C. are continuing to investigate how the list of CCW holders in Missouri got into the hands of the Social Security Administration.
