We’re getting word that the Brumley Grand Auglaize Swinging bridge on swinging bridges road has been closed by MoDot.

According to a post to Facebook, MoDot has found the over 100-year-old bridge at the end of the Osage Arm of Lake of the Ozarks to be “Structurally deficient.”

KRMS is currently reaching out to MoDot officials for additional information into the closure.

The bridge was recently placed on the national historical register following years of requests by the “Save the Brumley Swinging Bridge” organization.

It was built by legendary Lake Bridge Builder Joe Dice.
