Grand Glaize Beach has been closed because of elevared E coli bacteria levels. The state Department of Natural Resources says one of the two water samples taken at the beach this week failed to meet Missouri State Parks standards. Public Beach No.1 in Kaiser remains open for the holiday weekend. Both beaches are scheduled to close for the season afterLabor Day, so no additional water samples will be collected. This is the first time this summer either of the public beaches in Lake of the Ozarks State Park has been closed to swimmers. Last year, Grand Glaize Beach was closed over seven weekends because of high bactria levels.
