The geese are gone from Grand Glaize Beach. Or, most of them are, anyway. Personnel from the state Department of Natural Resources and U.S. Department of Agriculture have rounded up the birds and relocated them to Van Meter State Park. The geese are believed to be a contributing factor to the water quality issues that have plagued the public beaches in Lake of the Ozarks State Park for several years. Last year, Grand Glaize Beach was closed for much of the summer because of elevated E Coli bacteria levels.
