The Gravois Fire Protection district board of trustees has given Chief Ed Hancock the go ahead to look at district protocol when dispatching firefighters and EMS teams. Chief Hancock says they’re revisiting the issue to make it more effective, and adds there will be no reduction in services. Basically he says they don’t want to send out personnel if there is nothing they can do as this costs the district time and money. The calls they would like to eliminate are the ones that take personnel out of fire service for routine non life threatening situations. The district is also announcing the hiring of a full time firefighter. Christian Ducray was a volunteer with Mid-County prior to being hired. The district now has a total of 9 full time and 12 volunteer firefighters.
