More than 40 county roads and intersections have now been barricaded by the Greene County Highway Department, due to water over the roadway. Most of the affected roads are in the east side of the county. Duffy Mooney, Greene County assistant highway administrator, urges motorists to be extra cautious this evening, as there may be flooded areas which are not barricaded. Mooney says “We barricade every place we can get to, but there may be places where the water’s risen faster than we can get a barricade up,” said Mooney. “We want people to do their best to get home safely, but don’t take any chances — especially after dark. Turn around, don’t drown.”
