A bill which would nullify federal gun control laws will be debated on the Missouri senate floor. The bill was passed by the senate’s general laws committee by a vote of five to one. The bill is similar to one which fell just votes short of overriding a veto by Governor Jay Nixon in September of last year. If passed, the legislation would make it illegal for federal agents to enforce federal gun control laws, lower the minimum age for a concealed carry permit and allow certain teachers, designated by the school board to carry concealed weapons in schools. The senate is expected to debate the bill in the coming weeks.
