State Attorney General Josh Hawley wants to prevent the operators of a duck boat company involved in a fatal accident from operating again in Missouri. Josh Hawley has filed a petition in Taney County seeking to enjoin Brnason Duck Vehicles, LLC and owners Ripley Entertainment. Hawley’s suit cites ongoing safety hazards and says the company cared more about profits than safety. This comes just days after it was learned that a federal criminal investigation into the accident is underway. The Coast Guard has reportedly made a preliminary finding that the accident that claimed 17 lives was caused by misconduct, negligence, or inattention to duties by the captain of the boat.
