The COVID-19 strain of coronavirus may already be here at Lake of the Ozarks. That’s according to health professionals from Lake Regional Health System. Dr. Harbaksh Sangha says the hospital HAS had patients that exhibited signs of the illness and they recommended for testing, but those requests were denied by the state. Officials from Lake Regional, county government offices, schools, and more gathered for a meeting Thursday to discuss a plan of action to help prevent the rapid spread of coronoavirus. The illness has a rapid spread rate and is more deadly than influenza. It’s prompted cancellations and restrictions on public gatherings. Health officials from Lake Regional say we should practice social isolation, avoiding large gatherings.
