Some water customers in the state will have to wait until early next year to find out if they’ll be paying higher rates. The Missouri-American Water Company has proposed raising their annual water and sewer rates by 25%. The company wants to increase their annual operating revenues by more than $75 million. Missouri-American serves over 457,000 water customers and more than 13,000 sewer customers across the state. The Public Service Commission has set hearings on the rate hikes for late February and early March of 2018.
