A burn ban is back on the agenda for the Osage Beach Board of Aldermen, but it looks vastly different from a measure that was tabled several weeks ago. The ordinance that will come before the board next week focuses specifically burning garbage, which Aldermen Jeff Betherum says is more in line with their initial intentions.
The ordinance will ban all burning of garbage, household waste, and treated wood either in an open fire or in an open barrel. It does not apply to burning of yard waste, cooking fires or campfires. The ordinance is scheduled for first reading at the August 2nd meeting.
