The Labor Day weekend means a chance to get away from work for many people, but it’s a different story in you’re in the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Sergeant Scott White with the Patrol tells KRMS News Operation CARE will put as many troopers as possible on Lake Area roads and highways throughout the extended weekend.
He says the water division of the patrol worked 11 boat crashes around Missouri and there were no drownings over Labor Day weekend last year.
White also says Troop F, which covers central Missouri, shows Camden County as one of the leaders in the state for deaths on the road.
Thousands are expected to flock to the Lake to get their “last chance” vacation in before Summer ends.
