The Highway Patrol has released their final numbers for the Labor Day weekend. The counting period began at 6pm last Friday and lasted until 11:59 Monday night. During that time, they investigated 309 crashes statewide, resulting in four fatalities and 107 injuries. That’s down from the 11 fatalities recorded during the holiday in 2018. 116 people were arrested for DWI and another 95 for drug-related charges. On the water, there were 13 crashes, four injuries, 10 BWI arrests, and 16 drug arrests. In Troop F’s region, which includes the lake area, there were 36 traffic crashes, 15 injuries, 17 DWI arrests, and 11 drug arrests. The Water Patrol handled 9 boat crashes with two injuries, one drowning, and made 7 arrests for BWI.
