As you may expect, it was a busy day Wednesday for the Highway Patrol. Through 8pm, Troop F responded to 169 calls, including 46 crashes, 69 stranded motorists, and nine injuries.

In Camden County, authorities had to handle a two-for-one incident on southbound Highway 5. A driver lost control on the ice, sending the vehicle off the road and into a guardrail. The vehicle came to a rest partially blocking the right lane. While on that scene, the Highway Patrol says the tow unit on the responding truck hit the vehicle. A 63-year old man from Hollister received minor injuries. His 60-year old wife was seriously injured and taken to Lake Regional.
