The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports three people died on the state’as roads during the Christmas holiday counting period–from 6 p.m., Friday, to 11:59 p.m. Sunday, December 26. Two of the fatalities occurred on Christmas Day. 59-year-old Donna Miller of Camdenton was killed when she lost control of her car in a curve on Highway 7, crossed the center line and crashed head-on into another vehicle. And 41-year-old Nancy Feldmeier of Lebanon died when she lost control, ran off the road, and struck an embankment on Highway 133 south of Richland. Neither woman was wearing a seat belt.
The Patrol investigated a total of 213 traffic crashes over the Holiday weekend. Troopers arrested 56 people for driving while intoxicated. During last year’s counting period, the Highwaway Patrol investigated 487 accidents, and there were two fatalities and 51 DWI arrests.
