The Missouri State Highway Patrol is about the start checking school buses as a part of their annual school bus fleet checks across the state. The inspections occur twice a year in the spring and the fall. Last year it was estimated that Highway Patrol check over 12,000 buses alone between February and the end of May. Last year 85% of the schools buses in our state passed inspection while 12% didn’t meet the minimum requirements and officers gave the districts 10 days to make necessary repairs. They also failed 3% of the buses and they were required to be repaired before being returned to service.
