Funding has been approved which clears the way for some resurfacing work to start in the lake area. Adam Pulley, MoDOT Central District Communications Manager, says the Highways and Transportation Commission has given its blessing to a low bid of just over $4,045,000 for the work along routes J and W in Morgan County. Specifically, the resurfacing will include the entire length of Route J from Route 5 to the end of state maintenance and along Route W between Versailles and Route Y. The work along W will also include building shoulders and installing rumble strips in various locations. No start date has been announced for the work but the two projects are expected to done in 2020.
Some road projects have been approved in Cole County, as well. One of them will run right up to the edge of Miller County. Resurfacing and guard cable installation will take place on Route 54 from Stadium Boulevard in Jefferson City all the way to the Miller County line. That project will cost just over $9 million.
