Law enforcement is out, as always, in full force for the holiday. Now through July 7th, they’ll be practicing strict enforcement for impaired driving. No warnings will be issued during that period. If you drive impaired, you’ll be arrested. In 2018 there were 137 substance impaired driving arrests during the Fourth of July enforcement period. If you plan on drinking, make plans to have a designated driver or use an alternative form of transportation. While you’re traveling, if you see another driver you believe may be impaired, don’t hesitate to call law enforcement and have them check it out.
