The coach of the NBA champion Cleveland Cavaliers is coming back to his Missouri hometown to be honored next month. On Sunday, Mexico, Missouri native Tyronn Lue led the Cavaliers to their first-ever championship, and Cleveland’s first title of any kind since the Browns won the NFL championship in 1964. During a TV interview immediately after the Cavaliers beat the Golden State Warriors, Lue made mention of his hometown – not once, but twice. A homecoming to honor Lue is planned for July 2, beginning when his motorcade arrives with an escort from police and school kids on busses. Other events are planned throughout the weekend, including a July 3 fireworks display hosted by Lue.
