A man accused of holding a woman hostage and firing a gun in Miller County is in jail.

Deputies were called to Foote Lane Tuesday afternoon and they say witnesses saw a man pull a woman into a car before firing a gun and then running away.

Investigators say they caught up with the two people at a home on Adams Road and could not get Roy Derecsky to come out.

Missouri Highway Patrol brought in a SWAT team and after hours of negotiation, Derecsky came out peacefully.

Deputies found a gun and methamphetamine at the house.

Investigators say Derecsky also has unrelated warrants from Camden County.
