A few four-legged law enforcement officers are better protected thanks to a contribution from The Humane Society of the United States. In a show of appreciation for law enforcement agencies, the organization donated 18 ballistic vests for K9 officers around the state of Missouri. Many agencies don’t have a budget for their K9 officers, leaving the handler responsible for raising necessary funds to cover expenses, including protective equipment. Sheriff’s offices in ten counties received the donated vests, including Moniteau, Osage, and Laclede.
