It’s the Holiday season and family members are in town. One group we may be neglecting is pets. During the holiday’s it’s actually important that we pay a tad bit more attention to them that normal, not because they’re left out but because they can get into things that could harm them severely. This Christmas the Humane Society is reminding pet owners to keep an eye out for pets attempting to steal some holiday food. Chocolate is an important one because it can be fatal. Also keep foods with bones away from the dogs because bones can get lodged in the animal’s throat and possibly damage their stomach or intestines. Last but not least, look out for holiday plants which can be toxic for your pets. Keep the tinsel, Poinsettia’s and holiday lights up and out of reach. And don’t forget to give them a pat or two, it does help them overcome some of the stress they feel when the house is a little fuller than normal.
