Hundreds of new jobs are on their way to Eldon following the announcement that Quaker Window Products will set up shop with a 200-thousand square foot plant spanning over 100 acres. The plans call for Quaker to invest as much as $65-million over the next 6-10 years as their new campus is expanded bringing with it 300-600 higher paying jobs. Mayor Larry Henderson calls the announcement a great thing for Eldon which is in the best interest of the city and beneficial to all parties. The announcement of the project had been delayed until any property owners in the area were able to secure acceptable easements to their properties. Some of the key players helping to make the project a reality were Ameren-Missouri, MoDOT, the Eldon Development Corporation and the Eldon Area Chamber of Commerce. Construction is expected to begin with dirt work this fall with job training as early as next spring and operations to begin in the fall of 2019.
