Drainage during heavy rain events remains a problem, especially along the Highway-54 expressway stretching from around the Passover exit to the Rte-42 area in Osage Beach. It’s a continuing problem MoDOT is aware of. Central District Area Engineer Bob Lynch, speaking on the KRMS “Ozarks This Morning” program, says until improvements can be made, motorists need to use a little extra caution in the area.
Among possible solutions to help minimize the problem, according to Lynch, include putting up more signage or applying high friction surface treatment in the transition areas where motorists drive into, and out of, the curves. There was no timetable given for any of the improvements to begin.
