Heavy rainfall could cause dangerous road conditions. MoDot’s Bob Lynch says in addition to flooding, hydroplaning is an issue of concern.
Lynch says if you do come across an area with standing water causing hydroplaning, don’t hesitate to report it. As for flooded roadways, never drive into high water. Turn around and find a safer route. The Highway Patrol says that nine of 58 drowning deaths last year were related to flooding.
