An Iberia man is in the hospital under critical condition after suffering head wounds by his brother. Court documents show 29 year old Jeffrey Nye and his brother where arguing between each other at a home on Pearl street. At some point, Nye reached for a wine bottle and hit his brother on the head. His brother then fell on a piece of furniture, hitting his head. Police arrived to find the home destroyed and pools of blood on the floors. The injuries received are life-threatening but thanks to an air flight to University Hospital in Columbia, the brother was able to go through surgery and last report was he was expected to recover but have serious life long brain damage. Nye is currently being charged with first degree domestic assault with serious physical injury and armed criminal action.
