The man accused of stabbing his step niece to death this summer is set to be arraigned on Wednesday in Miller County court. 30-year old Steven Henderson of Iberia is charged with first degree murder and armed criminal action in the death of 13-year old Macala Shelton. She was reported missing in June and during the course of the investigation, Henderson was interviewed by Miller County deputies. In a statement, he told authorities how he stabbed the girl with a large survival knife. Shelton’s body was found near an abandoned farm near Iberia. The knife was found inside the home where Henderson and Shelton lived. Henderson is being held at the Miller County Jail on a bond of 500 thousand dollars.
