Miller County Prosecuting Attorney Benjamin Winfrey has charged Elver Johnson Jr. with two counts of the Class C Felony of Receiving Stolen Property. On March 27, 2015 a joint task force of four law enforcement agencies working under the auspices of the Miller County Sherriff’s Department executed a search warrant at “42 Recycling” located on Gott Plantation Road in rural Brumley. During a subsequent search of Johnson’s home located near Iberia, two handguns were discovered which were reported as stolen in burglaries from Pulaski County. The Department of Revenue is conducting a parallel investigation into 42 Recycling’s operations regarding the purchase and crushing of automobiles. Each charge of Receiving Stolen Property is punishable by up to seven (7) years in prison.
